Dovenby Cottage is a luxury one-bedroom cottage, located in the beautiful Wiltshire village of Nettleton, which borders historic Castle Combe.  Whether your plans are to hunker down in this romantic bolthole, get out and explore the wonderful South Cotswold countryside, or head to the impressive Roman towns of Cirencester, Cheltenham or Bath....Dovenby cottage is the perfect place for a tranquil, relaxing stay.

Crossing the threshold you will begin to unwind.  The charming single story building provides every luxury from the bedroom with Egyptian cotton sheets and duck down duvet to the large wet room with walk-in shower, luxurious marble tiles and a cast iron bath for two.  You will also be provided with bath robes and complimentary toiletries to complete the experience. Of course wi-fi is free.

If you'd like to dine out we can provide you with recommendations of some great places nearby. However if you'd like to stay in we have a fantastic and well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can also watch TV, listen to music or just sit by the fire as dinner cooks.  In warmer months you can head out to the patio to eat.

Added luxury

Whilst Dovenby Cottage provides a romantic and cosy hideaway we aim to provide more than this tailored to your needs. Living next to the Cottage we know the area well and would be happy to help you plan the perfect trip in advance, giving recommendations and advice regarding places to visit and the route of walks from the doorstep.

You may prefer not to make any plans at all and to be left to a quiet break, which is also fine with us.  The choice is yours.....

One thing we do insist on though is leaving you a few small items to welcome you to your break.  We love to greet you with a few treats, as well as practical items and whilst these may change with the seasons, you won't be disappointed.

Something for everyone

Nettleton is a fantastic base to explore from. People travel to the area from miles around for walking, cycling, car racing, golf, country pursuits, visits to places of interest, historic City visits and much more. Wonderful walks are available literally from the doorstep, including a notable short one to the sleepy Cotswold village of Castle Combe, where Stephen Spielberg's movie 'Warhorse' was recently filmed, as well as Dr Doolittle in the 60's. Superb pubs and even a Michellin-starred restaurant are also within walking distance. Even beautiful Bath is just 25 minutes away.

Children are very welcome and the Cottage and grounds are very safe and practical for even the youngest of children.  We have a double sofabed in the lounge for older children . We can provide a travel cot for very young children.

Whilst we cannot accommodate pets, guide dogs are always welcome.  We are also well-placed to accept wheelchair visitors. Parking is next to the building and a wide stone path provides good level access to the building which is all on one floor, with wide doors.
